About the Role
This permanent full-time Senior Medical Social Worker Dublin Youth Drug Alcohol position offers the opportunity to work with young people facing substance use challenges. Based at our modern Kilnamanagh/Tymon Primary Care Centre in Tallaght, you’ll be part of a dedicated team providing specialized youth drug alcohol services Dublin to vulnerable young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized social work interventions for young people with youth drug alcohol dependencies
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans for Dublin youth services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Deliver family therapy and support services for youth drug alcohol cases
- Maintain detailed case records and participate in case conferences for YoDA service delivery
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment for young people with substance use issues
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives in Dublin youth drug alcohol programs
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- NQSW (Newly Qualified Social Worker) status or equivalent professional social work qualification
- Registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in medical social work or youth services
- Experience working with youth drug alcohol issues or addiction services
- Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent assessment, intervention and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional training in addiction counselling or youth drug alcohol intervention methods
- Experience in Dublin healthcare settings or HSE services
- Family therapy or systemic intervention training
- Knowledge of youth drug alcohol treatment modalities and evidence-based interventions
