This Senior Occupational Therapist role in Galway University Hospitals is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers the chance to work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver advanced, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions
• Manage complex caseloads involving medically admitted patients in the Emergency Department
• Provide specialist occupational therapy input for Older Persons in acute hospital settings
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support safe discharge planning
• Supervise, support, and mentor junior occupational therapy staff and students
• Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Significant post-qualification experience, including acute hospital practice
• Demonstrated high level of clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
• Experience working with Older Persons and acute medical admissions
• Strong communication, leadership, and team-working skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3301) pay scales, depending on experience
