Job Overview

As a Senior Physiotherapist within the Surgical Hub at Cork University Hospital, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, support multidisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to service development. This role is suited to an experienced physiotherapist seeking to make a meaningful impact on patient care within acute surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for surgical patients
  • Lead and support evidence-based rehabilitation programmes within the Surgical Hub
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior physiotherapy staff and students
  • Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and clinical audits
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to governance standards
  • Promote patient-centred care and safe discharge planning

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with CORU (or eligibility to register)
  • Significant post-qualification clinical experience, ideally in acute or surgical settings
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and service excellence

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

This is a permanent whole-time position offering competitive pay aligned with HSE Senior Physiotherapist salary scales.
