The Senior Radiotherapy Physicist Galway role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and advance radiotherapy physics services within Galway University Hospitals. Job Overview
As Senior Radiotherapy Physicist, you will provide leadership in clinical radiotherapy physics, quality assurance, and service development. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient-centred cancer care while supporting technological innovation and compliance with national standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical radiotherapy physics support across treatment planning and delivery.
- Lead and oversee quality assurance programmes for radiotherapy equipment and procedures.
- Contribute to the commissioning of new radiotherapy technologies and systems.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety legislation and national standards.
- Support research, audit, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise physics staff and trainees.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams to optimise patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Medical Physics or Radiotherapy Physics.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in radiotherapy physics relevant to a senior role.
- Extensive experience in treatment planning systems and radiotherapy QA.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
