The Staff Nurse Endoscopy Letterkenny position offers an excellent opportunity to join the Endoscopy team at Letterkenny University Hospital. This permanent whole-time role within the HSE West and North West region provides a rewarding clinical environment where high standards of patient care and teamwork are central to service delivery.
As a Staff Nurse in Endoscopy, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, efficient and compassionate care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients before, during and after endoscopic procedures.
- Assist medical staff with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy interventions.
- Monitor and assess patient condition, responding promptly to clinical changes.
- Ensure infection prevention and control standards are maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE policies.
- Support patient education and provide clear pre- and post-procedure guidance.
- Participate in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Relevant clinical experience in acute hospital settings; endoscopy experience desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to maintaining high professional standards and patient-centred care.
