Job Overview

The Public Health Nursing Service across Dublin South and Wicklow is seeking experienced Registered General Nurses for permanent community-based roles. These Staff Nurse General Community Wicklow positions offer the opportunity to deliver high-quality nursing care to individuals and families within their own homes and local primary care centres.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team while contributing directly to patient-centred care across defined geographical areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in their homes and community settings
  • • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans
  • • Work collaboratively with Public Health Nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • • Provide wound care, chronic disease management and health promotion support
  • • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
  • • Participate in infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives
  • • Travel within the designated geographical area to clinics and home visits

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • • Demonstrated depth and breadth of community nursing experience
  • • Full clean driving licence
  • • Access to own vehicle for community visits
  • • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €37,788 – €56,032 (LSI applicable in line with national agreements).

Multiple permanent positions available including whole-time and part-time contracts (0.9 WTE, 0.62 WTE and 0.6 WTE).

Location & Employer Information

These roles are based within the Public Health Nursing Service across Dublin South and Wicklow.

Current vacancies include positions in Vergemount Hall, Clonskeagh, Dublin 6, including roles covering Donnybrook Primary Care Centre. A panel may be formed for current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies within the Dublin South and Wicklow service area.

This position forms part of the Health Service Executive’s community healthcare services, delivering essential care across homes and primary care centres.
