Sligo University Hospital is seeking a committed Staff Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic acute setting as part of the Health Service Executive (HSE) West and North West region. Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care within the ICU environment
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, escalating concerns appropriately
• Operate specialised ICU equipment safely and competently
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
• Assist in implementing care plans and clinical guidelines
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration
• Previous ICU or acute nursing experience desirable
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care setting
