This Staff Nurse Local Injury Unit role at St. Luke’s General Hospital offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse to join a dynamic and patient-focused team in Kilkenny. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality urgent care services within the Local Injury Unit.
This is a permanent wholetime position within the HSE, ideal for nurses seeking to further develop their emergency nursing expertise in a supportive and progressive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within the Local Injury Unit
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting
- Work collaboratively with medical and multidisciplinary teams
- Support triage, wound care, minor injury management and emergency interventions
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Supervise and support junior nursing staff as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum two years’ experience, gained within the last four years, in Emergency Department Nursing
- Demonstrated clinical competence in emergency or urgent care settings
- Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- A postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this position ranges from €37,788 to €56,032 per annum, in line with the HSE Staff Nurse – General pay scale, with incremental progression and Long Service Increments (LSI) applicable.
