Cavan Monaghan Mental Health Services are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse (Pre-Registration Mental Health) to join their multidisciplinary team. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers hands-on clinical experience within a supportive HSE environment while awaiting professional registration.
This role is ideal for newly qualified mental health nurses committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across community and inpatient mental health settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care to service users within mental health services.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support recovery-focused treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE and regulatory standards.
- Participate in risk assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation of service user needs.
- Promote therapeutic engagement and support service user wellbeing.
- Adhere to HSE policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols.
- Support clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing.
- Awaiting registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health legislation and best practice standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE consolidated pay scales for Staff Nurse – Psychiatric (Awaiting Registration) Grade 2637, in accordance with the August 2025 pay adjustments .
