An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse – Special Care Baby Unit at Regional Hospital Mullingar. This role offers experienced neonatal nurses the chance to work in a highly specialised clinical environment, delivering expert care to newborn infants requiring additional support. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers long-term career stability within the public health service.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in the Special Care Baby Unit
• Monitor, assess, and respond to the complex clinical needs of infants
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support neonatal outcomes
• Support and educate parents and families during their infant’s care journey
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and guidelines
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Children’s Nurse / Registered Sick Children’s Nurse
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in NICU, SCBU, or PICU
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of neonatal nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
