Job Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Staff Officer, Grade V within the Scheduled Care Department at Galway University Hospitals. This administrative role plays a key part in supporting healthcare delivery through effective coordination, organisation, and management of scheduled care services. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Scheduled Care Department
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and ensure efficient service delivery
  • Maintain accurate records and manage departmental data systems
  • Support management with reporting, planning, and service improvements
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff across departments
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems and processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within healthcare or public service
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in IT systems and data management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eligibility restricted to HSE, TUSLA, Section 38, or statutory health agency employees under WRC Agreement 161867

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary scale: €52,235 – €62,485 (including long service increments). This is a permanent whole-time position offering standard HSE benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based in the Scheduled Care Department at Galway University Hospitals, part of HSE West and North West. The hospital provides a wide range of acute healthcare services and is a key healthcare provider for the region.
