Naas General Hospital is seeking a Temporary Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join its dynamic emergency care service. This full-time, specified-purpose role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality acute care within HSE Dublin and Midlands. The successful candidate will report to the Clinical Director and/or General Manager.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients attending the Emergency Department
• Lead and support multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ensure timely assessment, diagnosis, and management of emergency presentations
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service improvement initiatives
• Contribute to on-call and rota commitments as required
• Support education, supervision, and development of NCHDs and other clinical staff
• Uphold HSE policies, professional standards, and regulatory compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on (or eligibility for) the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland in Emergency Medicine
• Demonstrated expertise in emergency care with strong clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-working abilities
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
• Experience in teaching, supervision, and clinical governance desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Contract type: Specified Purpose, Wholetime (Full-Time)
• Salary: As per HSE Consultant salary scales (not listed at employer’s request)
