Job Overview
Theatre Porter Kilkenny is a permanent wholetime opportunity with Kilcreene Regional Orthopaedic Hospital, part of HSE Dublin and South East. This role plays a vital part in supporting theatre services by ensuring a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment within the operating department. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical teams to maintain high standards of care and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients within the theatre department.
- Prepare and maintain operating theatres and associated areas to required hygiene and safety standards.
- Transport equipment, instruments, and supplies as required by theatre staff.
- Support clinical teams during procedures by ensuring necessary items are available promptly.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and report any issues to the relevant supervisor.
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare support environment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, infection control, and manual handling practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced theatre setting.
- Flexibility to work required shifts in line with service needs.
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient support.

- Salary aligned with HSE Theatre Technician/Porter Grade 5363 pay scale in accordance with public sector agreements.
