This is a permanent wholetime General Practitioner position based in Kiltormer, Co. Galway, operating under the General Medical Services (GMS) Scheme. The role offers an excellent opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care within a well-established rural community practice supported by the Health Service Executive.
The post is eligible for the full Rural Practice Support Framework (RPSF) allowance and operates as a dispensing practice with an approximate panel size of 630 patients.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services under the GMS Scheme
• Deliver comprehensive primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and HSE standards
• Participate in community-based healthcare initiatives and preventative care
• Work collaboratively with the Primary Care Team and wider HSE services
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the General Register of Medical Practitioners with the Irish Medical Council
• Eligibility to hold a GMS contract
• Experience in general practice or primary care settings
• Strong clinical decision-making and patient communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a rural practice environment
• Commitment to continuous professional development
