Cork University Maternity Hospital is seeking a Grade VI Assistant Financial Analyst to support financial governance, budgeting, and reporting within a complex acute maternity service. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial controls, compliance, and informed decision-making across hospital services.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance reviews
• Contribute to cost control initiatives and value-for-money assessments
• Support financial compliance with HSE and Department of Health policies
• Assist in the preparation of business cases and financial submissions
• Work closely with clinical and operational managers to provide financial insight
• Support audit processes and respond to internal and external financial queries
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant third-level qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline
• Demonstrable experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or management accounting
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
• Eligibility to work in the Irish public health service

• Salary in line with the Grade VI (0574) Consolidated HSE Salary Scale, as sanctioned under Department of Health Circulars effective from 1 August 2025
