Portiuncula University Hospital is seeking an experienced Grade VI Medical Workforce Officer to join its Medical Workforce Department. This is a permanent, whole-time internal HSE opportunity supporting the effective management of medical staffing and workforce operations. The role plays a vital part in ensuring continuity of high-quality patient care through robust workforce planning and administration.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage medical workforce administration and rotas
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and contract management for medical staff
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, employment legislation, and WRC agreements
• Liaise with clinical departments, senior management, and external stakeholders
• Oversee data reporting, workforce metrics, and staffing records
• Contribute to service planning and workforce optimisation initiatives
• Provide guidance and support to junior administrative staff
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Eligibility to work as a Grade VI (0574) within the HSE
• Current employment within HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)
• Demonstrated experience in medical workforce, HR, or healthcare administration
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• High level of IT proficiency and data management capability
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
