An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Grade VIII Accountant to join the Dublin and Midlands health region. This senior finance role supports regional leadership in delivering robust financial planning, performance management, and value-for-money outcomes across health services.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the General Manager in regional financial planning and monthly performance management
• Lead and enhance budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
• Provide high-quality financial analytics to support decision-making
• Assess, establish, and continuously improve internal financial controls
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining safe service delivery
• Support business cases for additional investment in health services
• Link financial inputs to service outputs and outcomes to demonstrate value for money
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Significant senior-level finance experience, ideally in the public sector
• Strong analytical, reporting, and financial modelling skills
• Proven experience in budget management and financial governance
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• High level of integrity and understanding of public service accountability
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: HSE Grade VIII pay scale (in line with consolidated public sector scales)
• Contract: Permanent, whole-time
