St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown is recruiting a permanent, full-time Healthcare Records Coordinator (Grade V) to join its team. This is a confined competition open only to eligible HSE and public health service employees — see eligibility details below.

Role Overview

The Healthcare Records Coordinator will play a key role in the management and administration of patient healthcare records at St Columcille’s Hospital. Working within the Health Records Department, the post-holder will help ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant management of clinical documentation — supporting frontline care delivery and the operational integrity of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will be in line with the Grade V Healthcare Records Coordinator role and will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinating the maintenance, retrieval, and tracking of patient healthcare records in accordance with HSE policy and data protection legislation.
  • Supervising and supporting junior health records staff, providing guidance and quality oversight.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective filing, archiving, and records management systems.
  • Liaising with clinical, nursing, and administrative teams to facilitate timely access to records for patient care and audit purposes.
  • Ensuring compliance with Freedom of Information (FOI), GDPR, and relevant health information governance requirements.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the Health Records Department.
  • Producing and reviewing management reports and statistics as required.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for Grade V in the HSE, as set out in the Job Specification. This will typically include relevant administrative or health records experience, supervisory competence, and a demonstrated ability to manage workload in a busy hospital environment. Salary

€52,758 – €63,110 per annum (HSE Grade V Clerical scale, 7-point scale, plus Long Service Increments where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.

St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin. St Columcille’s is a model 2 acute hospital serving communities in south County Dublin and north Wicklow, operating under the HSE Dublin and South East health region. The post is based on-site at the Loughlinstown campus.
