HSE West and North West is recruiting an HSCP Practice Education Project Officer (Oifigeach Tionscadail Oideachais Chleachtais na nGairmeacha Sláinte agus Cúraim Shóisialaigh) to lead and develop practice education initiatives across the region’s Health and Social Care Professions Disability Services. This is a permanent, wholetime post at HSCP Project Officer (Grade 3149) level, open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

About the Role

The HSCP Practice Education Project Officer will play a central role in advancing practice education for Health and Social Care Professions within Disability Services across HSE West and North West. The post sits within the HSCP Practice Education function and is focused on strengthening the capacity of clinical placements, supporting student education pathways, and contributing to workforce development across a wide geographical region spanning seven counties.

  • Lead and coordinate practice education projects across HSCP Disability Services in HSE West and North West.
  • Develop and sustain clinical placement capacity for Health and Social Care Professions students across the region.
  • Liaise with academic institutions, placement providers, and HSE service managers to support student placement planning and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to regional and national HSCP practice education policy and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the professional development of practice educators and supervisors across the region.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Registration with CORU (or equivalent recognised regulatory body) in a relevant Health and Social Care Profession.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a Health and Social Care Professions role, including relevant experience in practice education, project management, or service development.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of HSCP practice education frameworks, HSE structures, and Disability Services.

Salary

This post is remunerated on the HSE HSCP Project Officer (Grade 3149) pay scale. The current scale, effective 1 June 2026 under HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (DoH Circular 2/2026), is:

€65,197 – €76,767 per annum (HSCP Project Officer scale, 9-point scale)

Location

This post is based within HSE West and North West and covers a large regional footprint spanning Counties Sligo, Roscommon, Mayo, Leitrim, Galway, Donegal, and Cavan. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with services and stakeholders across the region. HSE West and North West is one of the largest HSE regions in the country, delivering a wide range of health and social care services including an extensive Disability Services network.
