The HSE National Finance and Procurement Division is recruiting a Logistics Hub Manager (Grade VII) to lead the operation of its procurement logistics and community store facilities. This is a senior operational management role with direct impact on the supply of goods and materials across the national health service. There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy, based across HSE Procurement, Galway Community Store (Unit 17, Briarhill Business Park, Galway) and the HSE Procurement Logistics Hub (Finisklin Industrial Estate, Sligo).

Role Overview
Reporting within the HSE Logistics & Inventory Management function, the Logistics Hub Manager takes operational ownership of a busy procurement store and distribution hub. The role combines people leadership, inventory and stock control, distribution planning, and continuous improvement, ensuring healthcare sites receive the supplies they depend on accurately and on time. It offers the opportunity to shape supply-chain performance at a national level while managing front-line warehouse and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the procurement logistics hub and community store, including goods receipt, storage, order picking and distribution.
- Lead, supervise and develop warehouse and logistics staff, allocating resources and managing performance to meet service levels.
- Oversee inventory management, stock accuracy, cycle counting and replenishment across the facilities.
- Plan and coordinate distribution and delivery schedules to healthcare sites, driving efficiency across the supply chain.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety, quality and regulatory requirements in all warehouse and logistics activity.
- Monitor budgets, key performance indicators and service levels, and produce management reporting.
- Contribute to national logistics, inventory and continuous-improvement initiatives, and liaise with procurement, suppliers and end-user sites.
Requirements
- Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for this confined competition as set out in the Job Specification and Additional Campaign Information for NRS15159.
- Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain or inventory management at a supervisory or management level.
- Sound knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement/supply processes.
- Strong leadership, planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, performance and service delivery in a demanding operational environment.
Salary
€61,219 – €74,251 per annum (HSE Grade VII scale, 9-point scale), plus two long-service increments (LSIs) of €76,912 and €79,583, based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026 (DoH Circular 2/2026). Remuneration for part-time appointments is pro-rata to the hours worked.
Location
The immediate permanent whole-time vacancy is based across two sites: the HSE Procurement Galway Community Store at Unit 17, Briarhill Business Park, Galway, and the HSE Procurement Logistics Hub at Finisklin Industrial Estate, Sligo. A national panel will also be formed from this campaign, from which current and future permanent and specified-purpose vacancies of full- or part-time duration may be filled at locations including Tullamore, Letterkenny, Sligo, Galway, Limerick, Tralee, Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Naas, Dublin, Drogheda and Roscommon.
Contract Type
The current vacancy is permanent whole-time. The panel formed from this campaign may be used to fill permanent and specified-purpose posts on either a whole-time or part-time basis.
