Cork University Hospital is recruiting a permanent, full-time Nurse Tutor to join its education and training team in Wilton, Cork. Role Overview
The Nurse Tutor will be responsible for delivering and coordinating nursing education programmes within Cork University Hospital. Working as part of a dedicated education team, the successful candidate will support pre-registration and post-registration learners, contribute to curriculum development, and promote evidence-based practice across clinical areas. This permanent wholetime post offers a meaningful opportunity to drive professional standards and influence nursing practice at a facility that serves a wide catchment population across the HSE South West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing education programmes for pre-registration and post-registration learners.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and management to identify education and training needs.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date curriculum content aligned with national standards and best practice.
- Support student nurses on clinical placement, providing supervision and structured feedback.
- Contribute to quality improvement and the development of evidence-based nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) requirements relevant to nurse education.
- Participate in research, audit, and professional development activities.
Requirements

Salary
€73,793 – €81,808 per annum (HSE Nurse Tutor (General) scale, 10-point scale, plus Long Service Increment of €82,809 where applicable). Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
