An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (Cúntóir Teiripeoir Gairme) to join the Occupational Therapy Department at Connolly Hospital. This permanent wholetime post supports high-quality, patient-centred care across acute hospital services in the Dublin North and East region.
Table of Contents
The successful candidate will work closely with Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to assist patients in achieving maximum independence and functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist Occupational Therapists in the assessment and treatment of patients
• Support the delivery of individual and group therapy programmes
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment
• Assist patients with activities of daily living under supervision
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with HSE standards
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Uphold infection prevention, health and safety, and patient dignity standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Healthcare Support or relevant discipline
• Experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Occupational Therapy Assistant (6505)
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent Wholetime
• Working Hours: Full-time (part-time posts may arise via panel)
