University Hospital Limerick is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Technician to join its pharmacy services team on a permanent part-time basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality medication management within an acute hospital setting. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to service improvement initiatives within the HSE Mid West region.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality dispensary services in line with hospital and HSE standards
• Support medication management processes across clinical services
• Contribute to pharmaceutical procurement and stock control activities
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audit processes
• Ensure compliance with medicines governance and safety requirements
• Support and mentor junior pharmacy staff as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification as a Pharmaceutical Technician
• Registration with the appropriate professional body (where applicable)
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in hospital dispensary services
• Proven experience in medication management and pharmaceutical procurement
• Experience contributing to audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
