Cork University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to lead and deliver specialist respiratory physiotherapy services for patients with chronic lung disease. This senior clinical role combines advanced patient care, service development, education, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary acute hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with chronic respiratory conditions
• Lead evidence-based respiratory physiotherapy practice across designated services
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and clinical audit activities
• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to physiotherapy staff and students
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues in multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in policy development and implementation aligned with national and local guidelines
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to outcome measurement

Required Skills & Qualifications

• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist (or eligibility to register)
• Significant post-qualification experience in respiratory physiotherapy
• Demonstrated expertise in chronic lung disease management
• Experience in clinical leadership, service development, or specialist practice
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Evidence of continued professional development and postgraduate learning in respiratory care

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Physiotherapist Clinical Specialist (Grade 3707), adjusted in accordance with national public service pay agreements
