Sligo University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with qualified physiotherapists and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes in an acute hospital setting.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Assist physiotherapists in the delivery of prescribed treatment programmes
• Support patient mobility, exercise programmes, and rehabilitation activities
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment
• Assist with patient transfers and positioning in line with care plans
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service audits
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Adhere to HSE policies, procedures, and infection prevention standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience working with patients as a physiotherapy assistant (training or post-qualification)
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow clinical instructions and care plans accurately
• Commitment to patient-centred care and professional standards
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE consolidated salary scales for Grade 6503 (Physiotherapy Assistant), effective from 1 August 2025
• Working Hours: Wholetime hours as per HSE conditions
