University Hospital Waterford is seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Radiographer to lead and support Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS). This senior specialist role is central to optimising imaging workflows, clinical governance, and digital radiology services across the hospital.

The successful candidate will work closely with radiology, IT, and clinical teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient diagnostic imaging services.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical leadership for PACS and RIS operations
• Act as the clinical specialist point of contact for imaging informatics
• Support system configuration, optimisation, and user training
• Lead quality assurance, audit, and data governance initiatives
• Collaborate with IT and vendors on upgrades and system developments
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, GDPR, and clinical standards
• Participate in service planning, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Support education and mentoring of radiography staff


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Radiographer with CORU
• Significant post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiography
• Demonstrated specialist experience with PACS and RIS systems
• Evidence of leadership, project management, or service development
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
• Relevant postgraduate qualification or specialist training (desirable)
