University Hospital Limerick is seeking an experienced Registrar in General and Breast Surgery for the July 2026 NCHD rotation. This role offers hands-on surgical exposure within a busy tertiary setting, supporting high-quality patient care across general and breast surgery services.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver registrar-level clinical care in General and Breast Surgery
• Participate in elective and emergency surgical activity
• Assist and perform operative procedures appropriate to experience
• Contribute to outpatient clinics and multidisciplinary meetings
• Support junior doctors and collaborate with consultants
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Comply with HSE clinical governance and patient safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Active Irish Medical Council (IMC) registration (number must be stated on application)
• Relevant registrar-level experience in General and/or Breast Surgery
• Inactive or pending IMC registrations will not be accepted
• Membership examinations are desirable
• OET/IELTS where applicable
• Availability to commence duty on 13 July 2026
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with Registrar (Grade 1538) HSE consolidated payscales
– Approx. €68,891 – €81,126 per annum (dependent on point)
• Additional on-call and overtime payments as applicable
• Access to HSE pension scheme and annual leave entitlements
• Structured training aligned with national NCHD rotations
