University Hospital Limerick is seeking a Registrar in Nephrology to join the HSE Mid West team on a fixed-term, whole-time contract commencing July 2026. This role offers advanced clinical exposure in nephrology within a major acute teaching hospital.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology care under consultant supervision
• Participate in acute renal services, including dialysis and renal replacement therapies
• Contribute to on-call rotas in line with NCHD arrangements
• Support multidisciplinary team decision-making and patient care planning
• Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and teaching activities
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HSE policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Minimum of 3 years postgraduate medical experience
• Prior experience in nephrology or general medicine at registrar level
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Registrar (1538)
• Salary Scale (1 Aug 2025): €68,891 – €81,126 per annum (point dependent)
• Fixed-term, whole-time contract
