An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist specialising in Care of the Older Person at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. This permanent whole-time post sits within a large, well-established Occupational Therapy service supporting acute, outpatient, and rehabilitation pathways across Louth Hospitals. The role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, person-centred care while contributing to service development within a multidisciplinary hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver a high-quality Occupational Therapy service to older persons across acute and rehabilitation settings
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to service user needs
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, and allied health professionals
• Contribute to service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide clinical supervision, support, and education to junior staff and students
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HSE policies and professional standards
• Participate in audit, research, and continuous professional development activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as an Occupational Therapist with CORU
• Minimum post-qualification experience appropriate to Senior grade level
• Demonstrated experience in Care of the Older Person or relevant acute hospital services
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working abilities
• Knowledge of HSE policies, clinical governance, and best practice standards
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3301) consolidated salary scale
• Contract: Permanent whole-time
• Working Hours: Full-time hours as per HSE terms and conditions

Location & Employer Information
This role is based at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth, with opportunities to work across Louth Hospitals sites including community and rehabilitation settings. The post is part of the Health Service Executive’s Dublin and North East region, within a large Occupational Therapy department of approximately 37.5 staff delivering services across multiple specialties.
