A permanent whole-time Social Care Worker opportunity is available in the Loughrea area, Co. Galway, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers long-term career stability within a respected Section 38 organisation.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Provide person-centred care and support in line with individual care plans
• Promote independence, social inclusion, and community participation
• Support individuals with daily living skills, personal care, and wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning reviews
• Uphold HIQA standards, safeguarding, and organisational policies
• Participate in shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 7/8 Degree in Social Care or equivalent qualification
• CORU registration or eligibility to register with CORU
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities (desirable)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Full clean driving licence (where required for the service)
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
