Letterkenny University Hospital is recruiting a Staff Grade Phlebotomist to join its clinical team on a permanent whole-time basis. This role is essential in supporting diagnostic services and ensuring a high standard of patient care within the hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and blood sample collection in line with HSE policies
• Correctly label, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory
• Maintain accurate patient and sample records
• Adhere to infection prevention and control standards
• Provide a professional and reassuring service to patients
• Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, and laboratory staff
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or training in phlebotomy
• Demonstrated competence in venepuncture techniques
• Knowledge of health and safety and infection control procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

• Salary in line with HSE Phlebotomist Grade 3425 consolidated pay scales (August 2025)
