Corlann (formerly Brothers of Charity Services Ireland) is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Cruachan Adult Services across the Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare and Ballaghaderreen areas of County Roscommon. This permanent full-time opportunity offers the chance to support adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and complex needs while promoting independence, inclusion and person-centred care within residential, respite, day and community settings.
Role Overview
The Staff Nurse will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing care and advocacy for people supported by Corlann. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist individuals to develop person-centred plans, make informed choices and participate fully in their communities. The successful candidate will initially work within one area of the Cruachan Service, with flexibility to move across services in response to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex support needs.
- Act as a key worker, supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and maximise independence.
- Develop, implement and review person-centred support plans.
- Promote inclusion, community participation and positive risk-taking.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, families and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and professional standards.
- Support continuous quality improvement and best practice.
- Participate in a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers and night duty.
Requirements
- Current NMBI Live Register Certificate.
- RNID or RGN qualification.
- Full clean manual Irish driving licence.
- Willingness to obtain a Class D1 driving licence if required.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Good IT skills.
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disability, autism or complex needs is desirable.
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to person-centred practice and continuous professional development.
Salary
Staff Nurse: €38,166 – €54,956 per annum (13-point HSE Staff Nurse scale, plus Long Service Increment of €56,592 where applicable), based on the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. As this is a Section 38 employer, HSE-aligned salary scales apply.
Eligible Staff Nurses may subsequently apply for the Enhanced Nurse role in accordance with HSE HR Circular 022/2019, subject to meeting the qualifying criteria.
Additional premium payments apply for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and night duty when worked. A location allowance of €2,637 per annum (pro-rata where applicable) may also be payable for designated services.

This position is based within Corlann’s Cruachan Adult Services covering Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare and Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon. Staff may work across residential, respite, day and community services depending on operational requirements.
Contract Type
Permanent, Full-Time (75 hours per fortnight), Pensionable.
