Corlann (BOCSI) is recruiting Staff Nurses and Enhanced Nurses for its disability services based in Clarinbridge, County Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for registered nurses with an interest in intellectual disability care to join a dedicated community-based team making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they support.

About the Role

Corlann (Block of Community Services Ireland) is a Section 38 organisation providing community-based health and social care services to people with disabilities in County Galway. This campaign offers 1 Permanent Wholetime post and 2 Specified Purpose Wholetime posts at the Staff Nurse / Enhanced Nurse grade, based at Clarinbridge.

The successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering person-centred nursing care in a residential or community disability setting. This role offers the opportunity to apply clinical skills in an environment focused on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in line with NMBI standards and organisational policy.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, service users, and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with professional and organisational guidelines.
  • Promote and protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of service users at all times.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that upholds the rights and dignity of each person supported.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with HIQA standards and organisational requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Support and mentor healthcare assistants and student nurses as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Be registered in the Intellectual Disability division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland), or be entitled to be so registered.
  • Candidates registered in the General division may also be considered — please refer to the Job Specification for full eligibility details.
  • A current, valid registration with NMBI is essential.
  • Experience in a disability or community nursing setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to person-centred care and to ongoing professional development.

Salary

The salary for this role is in line with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026, applicable to Section 38 organisations. The Staff Nurse (Grade 2135) scale is a 13-point scale ranging from €38,166 to €54,956 per annum, with a Long Service Increment (LSI) of €56,592 applicable after the maximum of the standard scale. Location

This position is based in Clarinbridge, County Galway, within Corlann’s community disability services in the west of Ireland. Clarinbridge is a village in south County Galway, conveniently located between Galway city and Gort, with good road access via the N18.
