About the Role
The Health Service Executive (HSE) West and North West is inviting applications for the Staff Nurse – Intellectual Disability supplementary panel (Rolling Campaign N0192025). This campaign aims to form panels from which current and future permanent, specified purpose, and temporary vacancies in Donegal may be filled.
As part of the nursing team, you will deliver compassionate, person-centred care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential, respite, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to clients with intellectual disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across HSE services.
- Support health promotion, independence, and inclusion initiatives.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor health outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HSE policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Be registered (or eligible for registration) on the Intellectual Disability Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Evidence of active registration at time of appointment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE values, person-centred care, and health & safety standards.
Desirable
- Post-registration experience in an Intellectual Disability setting.
- Further qualifications or training relevant to the specialty.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer
- Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €37,288 – €55,477 per annum (13 points including LSI) as per Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
- Contract Types Available: Permanent, Fixed Term, and Specified Purpose – both full-time and part-time.
