An excellent internal opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Grade V Human Resources Officer to join the HR team at University Hospital Waterford. This role supports the delivery of high-quality HR services within a busy acute hospital environment, contributing directly to workforce planning, employee relations, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive HR advisory support to managers and staff
• Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
• Assist with employee relations, attendance management, and performance processes
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and employment legislation
• Maintain accurate HR records and reporting
• Contribute to service improvement and HR projects
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders across the hospital and region

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Eligibility restricted to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)
• Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience in Human Resources or administration
• Demonstrated experience working in an HR or administrative environment
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of public service HR policies and procedures is desirable

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary in line with HSE Grade V (0566) consolidated pay scale (effective 1 August 2025)
