An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 within the Haematology/Oncology service at Sligo University Hospital. This role provides clinical, professional, and managerial leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centred cancer and haematology care. The post holder will play a key role in service development, staff management, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and managerial leadership within the Haematology/Oncology unit
• Ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care
• Manage staffing, rosters, and skill mix to meet service needs
• Support and supervise nursing staff, promoting professional development
• Lead quality, safety, and risk management initiatives
• Contribute to service planning, audit, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across oncology services

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration on the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI
• Minimum required post-registration experience as per HSE CNM2 criteria
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in an acute setting
• Experience in Haematology and/or Oncology nursing is highly desirable
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Evidence of continuing professional development

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119) – €61,463 to €77,666 per annum (LSI), in line with HSE consolidated pay scales effective 1 August 2025
• Incremental progression subject to HSE rules
• Permanent wholetime contract
