Job Overview
The Staff Grade Occupational Therapist will provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service across designated clinical areas. Working under the guidance of senior therapists and management, you will support patients in achieving optimal independence and functional ability while contributing to service development and clinical education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions
- Manage a varied caseload across acute, outpatient, and rehabilitation services
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care pathways
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
- Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement activities
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with CORU (or eligibility for registration)
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering patient-focused care
- Previous experience in acute or rehabilitation settings is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for this role ranges from €45,063 to €64,424 (LSI) in line with public sector pay agreements effective from 1 February 2026. Location & Employer Information
This role is based primarily at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, with rotational opportunities at Louth County Hospital in Dundalk. The Occupational Therapy department supports a broad range of services including Medical, Respiratory, Neurology, Care of the Elderly, Orthopaedics, Stroke Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Trauma, and Hand Therapy. You will be part of a progressive healthcare network within the HSE Dublin and North East region, serving communities across Louth and surrounding counties.
