Role Overview
Working across a 7 x 12-hour shift pattern over a fortnight, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality personal care and support to residents, helping to uphold their comfort, dignity, and overall quality of life. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role within a collaborative and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Monitor and record residents’ conditions, reporting any changes promptly to nursing staff.
- Assist with the safe mobility of residents, including transfers from bed to chair and walking support.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment in line with infection control standards.
- Support residents’ social activities and emotional well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the wider healthcare team.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including updating resident records and documentation.
Requirements
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Garda Vetting required.
- Good knowledge of infection control and health and safety standards.
- Full legal authorisation to work in Ireland is required. This employer is unable to provide employment permits or visa sponsorship.
Salary
€13.75 – €16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Location
Dublin. This is a full-time, in-person role based at a nursing home facility in Dublin. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated residential care team, contributing directly to the daily lives of older adults in a structured and supportive environment.
