Sligo University Hospital is seeking a Clinical Midwife/Nurse Specialist in Early Pregnancy Loss to join its dedicated maternity team. This permanent, wholetime role sits within the Health Service Executive (HSE) and offers the opportunity to deliver compassionate, specialist-led care to women and families experiencing early pregnancy loss. The position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist clinical care and support to women experiencing early pregnancy loss
• Provide expert assessment, intervention, and onward referral where needed
• Lead and coordinate evidence-based practice in early pregnancy care pathways
• Educate, advise, and support colleagues across maternity services
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HSE clinical governance standards
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centred care planning
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Midwife or Registered General Nurse with relevant postgraduate qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in early pregnancy care, bereavement care, or women’s health
• Evidence of clinical expertise at specialist level (CNS/CMS grades 2313 or 2632)
• Strong communication, counselling, and advocacy skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Grade: Clinical Midwife Specialist (2313) / Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) (2632)
Salary Scale (from 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 (with LSI)
