An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Stroke) to join the multidisciplinary team at Naas General Hospital, part of the HSE Dublin and Midlands region. This senior specialist nursing role offers the chance to deliver expert, evidence-based stroke care while contributing to service development, education, and clinical leadership.

This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is ideal for nurses seeking a long-term specialist career within acute hospital services.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver expert specialist nursing care to patients with stroke across the care continuum
• Provide clinical leadership and act as a resource for nursing and multidisciplinary staff
• Contribute to stroke service development, quality improvement, and audit
• Support education, training, and clinical supervision within the stroke service
• Participate in research and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Collaborate closely with medical, allied health, and community services
• Advocate for patient-centred care and continuity of care pathways
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant post-registration nursing experience
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Stroke nursing
• Postgraduate qualification relevant to stroke or specialist practice (essential or working towards, in line with CNS criteria)
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with the HSE Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) salary scale, as per Department of Health consolidated pay scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Hours: Whole-time, permanent contract
