Job Overview
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner Emergency Minor Injuries role at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to deliver high-level, patient-centred care within a busy Emergency Department setting. This position focuses on managing patients presenting with non-life-threatening injuries, supporting efficient patient flow and high-quality clinical outcomes. You will play a key leadership role in advancing nurse-led services within both the Emergency Department and Minor Injuries Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for minor injuries in adults and children over 5 years
- Deliver a nurse-led service within the Emergency Department minor injuries stream
- Support and contribute to RANP-led services in the Minor Injuries Unit
- Promote evidence-based practice and clinical excellence in emergency care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and organisational standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or eligibility for registration
- Significant experience in Emergency or Acute Care settings
- Demonstrated competence in managing minor injuries presentations
- Strong clinical decision-making and autonomous practice skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €72,122 – €89,004 per annum (based on experience and HSE pay scales)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime

This role is based at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth, part of the Louth Hospitals Group under HSE Dublin and North East. The hospital is a 485-bed acute general hospital providing a wide range of services including trauma orthopaedics, maternity, paediatrics, and emergency care. The group serves a large regional population across Louth, Meath, North Dublin, Cavan, and Monaghan, delivering both acute and chronic care services.
