The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a permanent, whole-time Catering Assistant (Grade Code 4123) to join its Dublin North and North City & West integrated health areas. This role supports high-quality meal preparation and service within HSE healthcare facilities, ensuring nutritional standards and hygiene compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing, portioning, and serving meals to patients, residents, and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and dining areas.
• Operate catering equipment safely and report any faults promptly.
• Follow food safety regulations and HSE infection control guidelines.
• Support senior catering staff in menu delivery and special dietary needs.
• Handle food deliveries, storage, and stock rotation.
• Participate in ongoing health and safety training.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in catering or hospitality preferred, ideally in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Commitment to high hygiene standards and patient care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
As per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025), Catering Assistant Grade 4123 pay ranges from €33,000 to €39,000 per annum, depending on experience and increments.
