An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 – Student Allocations Liaison Officer (Mental Health) within Mental Health Services in Donegal. This leadership role plays a key part in coordinating and supporting student nurse allocations, ensuring high-quality clinical learning environments across mental health services.

The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers an opportunity to contribute strategically to nursing education, workforce development, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage student nurse allocations across mental health services
• Act as the primary liaison between clinical sites, higher education institutions, and students
• Support and develop clinical learning environments in line with best practice
• Provide leadership and professional guidance to nursing staff involved in student supervision
• Monitor placement capacity, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Contribute to workforce planning and service improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and placement data
• Participate in audits, evaluations, and service development projects

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse (Mental Health Division) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum requirements in line with Clinical Nurse Manager 2 eligibility criteria
• Significant post-registration experience in mental health nursing
• Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Experience in student supervision, education, or practice development is desirable
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and educational teams

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Code 2119)
• Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (LSI applicable)
• Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime

• Working hours in line with HSE management grades
