Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate (Mental Health) to join the HSE Dublin and North East region, supporting the development of specialist CAMHS and related mental health services across Louth and Meath.
This role is ideal for experienced mental health nurses who are motivated to progress along the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) pathway while contributing to high-quality, recovery-focused mental health care within a multidisciplinary setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist mental health nursing care within CAMHS, CAMHS Liaison, or CAMHS MHID services
• Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient-centred care
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Support service development in line with national CAMHS and HSE mental health strategies
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, and professional practice
• Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
• Commit to progressing through the Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate (cCNS) pathway
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) on the NMBI Register
• Significant post-registration experience in mental health nursing
• Experience relevant to CAMHS, CAMHS Liaison, or MHID services (desirable)
• Strong clinical, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to provide a formal written commitment to complete the cCNS pathway if appointed
