Mayo University Hospital, part of the HSE West and North West region, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Children’s Respiratory) to join its multidisciplinary paediatric team. This specified purpose wholetime post offers the opportunity to deliver specialised respiratory care to children, supporting best clinical practice in a dynamic hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist nursing care to children with respiratory conditions, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans.
• Deliver and interpret paediatric spirometry services in line with clinical guidelines.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to optimise care outcomes.
• Participate in clinical audits, education sessions, and service development initiatives.
• Act as a clinical resource for staff, patients, and families on paediatric respiratory health.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse (Children’s) with An Bord Altranais (NMBI) or eligibility to register.
• Post-registration experience in paediatric respiratory nursing.
• Demonstrated experience providing a paediatric spirometry service.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Children’s) – Code 2626
• Salary Scale (as of 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales)
• Contract: Specified Purpose Wholetime
