The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) for the Cystic Fibrosis/Bronchiectasis Adult Service at Galway University Hospitals. This is a Specified Purpose Wholetime position within the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver expert nursing care to adults with Cystic Fibrosis and Bronchiectasis.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary respiratory medicine team.
• Coordinate and support patient management plans across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to service development and audit activities to improve care standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais (NMBI).
• Significant post-registration experience in Respiratory Medicine or a related specialty.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical specialty desirable.
• Must have or be willing to complete the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate.
• Strong leadership, communication, and patient advocacy skills.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• HSE pay scale for Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade Code 2632): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (effective from 1 August 2025, per Department of Health Circular 6/2025).
• Specified Purpose Wholetime contract.
• Standard HSE pension and annual leave entitlements apply.
