Sligo University Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Skills Facilitator (Clinical Nurse Manager 2) to support and enhance clinical education within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This permanent, whole-time leadership role offers an excellent opportunity to influence clinical standards, professional development, and patient outcomes in a critical care environment.

This Clinical Skills Facilitator Sligo role is ideal for a senior ICU nurse with a strong interest in education, governance, and clinical excellence.


Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate clinical skills education and competency development within ICU
• Support nursing staff through mentorship, supervision, and practice development
• Lead and support implementation of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines
• Promote high standards of patient safety, quality care, and clinical governance
• Collaborate with CNM teams, educators, and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
• Support induction, ongoing training, and professional development of nursing staff


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Significant post-registration ICU nursing experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience at CNM1/CNM2 level or equivalent
• Qualification or experience in clinical education, training, or practice development
• Strong communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice


Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary:
• Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade 2119)
• €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (HSE consolidated pay scale, effective August 2025)
