The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthesiologist to deliver expert perioperative and critical care services across the Dublin North region. This permanent whole-time post offers an opportunity to join a dynamic consultant team within one of the HSE’s busiest acute hospital networks.
Table of Contents
You will provide high-quality anaesthesia, perioperative support, ICU input and leadership within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive anaesthetic care for elective and emergency surgical procedures
• Deliver critical care and resuscitation support as required
• Participate in on-call and rota commitments
• Supervise and train NCHDs, including specialist registrars and SHOs
• Contribute to patient safety, clinical governance and audit activities
• Engage in multidisciplinary team collaboration and service development
• Support quality improvement, research, and innovation within the department
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered (or eligible for registration) on the Specialist Division – Anaesthesiology, Medical Council of Ireland
• Extensive experience in anaesthesia and acute perioperative care
• Strong capability in emergency response and critical care practice
• Demonstrated leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills
• Commitment to teaching, supervision and continuous professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland for a permanent whole-time post

• Salary: In accordance with the HSE Consultant Contract and Department of Health consolidated salary scales
