The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West invites applications for the position of Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (Ref: MW2025T23) at University Hospital Limerick, County Limerick. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services to patients in University Hospital Limerick and associated facilities.
- Deliver leadership and clinical guidance to multidisciplinary maternity and gynaecology teams.
- Participate in the on-call rota and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Engage in teaching, training, and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students.
- Support quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives within the Child Health Directorate.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the relevant specialty.
- Proven clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-working skills.
- Commitment to high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (Code 1139)
- Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Consultant Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025, Department of Health Circular 6/2025).
- Contract type: Fixed Term, Whole-time
