Job Overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity within the Dublin & South East Technology & Transformation team, focused on driving digital innovation, AI, and automation initiatives across healthcare services. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising systems, improving efficiency, and enhancing patient care through technology-led solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of Digital Innovation, AI, and Automation initiatives across the region
  • Drive strategic transformation projects aligned with healthcare priorities and ICT frameworks
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify innovation opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with ICT procedures, governance, and regulatory standards
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder engagement effectively
  • Support the implementation of scalable and sustainable digital solutions
  • Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and best practices
  • Contribute to regional and national digital transformation strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in ICT, Digital Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, or Automation
  • Proven experience delivering Digital Innovation, AI, or Automation projects
  • Strong knowledge of ICT procedures, governance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience working within healthcare or hospital systems is highly desirable
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and drive organisational change
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €60,613 – €78,795 (inclusive of long service increments where applicable).

This is a permanent whole-time position within the public health service, offering access to pension schemes, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based within HSE Dublin & South East, covering South Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford. The successful candidate will be located at one of the main regional Technology & Transformation sites:

  • Iveagh Building, Carrickmines Park, Carrickmines, Dublin, D18 X015
  • Lacken Offices, Dublin Road, Kilkenny

If based in Kilkenny, regular travel to the Dublin office will be required. The HSE Dublin & South East region delivers essential healthcare services and is actively advancing digital transformation to improve service delivery.
