Job Overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity within the Dublin & South East Technology & Transformation team, focused on driving digital innovation, AI, and automation initiatives across healthcare services. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising systems, improving efficiency, and enhancing patient care through technology-led solutions. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of Digital Innovation, AI, and Automation initiatives across the region
Drive strategic transformation projects aligned with healthcare priorities and ICT frameworks
Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to identify innovation opportunities
Ensure compliance with ICT procedures, governance, and regulatory standards
Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder engagement effectively
Support the implementation of scalable and sustainable digital solutions
Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and best practices
Contribute to regional and national digital transformation strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Relevant qualification in ICT, Digital Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, or Automation
Proven experience delivering Digital Innovation, AI, or Automation projects
Strong knowledge of ICT procedures, governance, and regulatory frameworks
Experience working within healthcare or hospital systems is highly desirable
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage complex projects and drive organisational change
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €60,613 – €78,795 (inclusive of long service increments where applicable).

This is a permanent whole-time position within the public health service, offering access to pension schemes, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based within HSE Dublin & South East, covering South Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford. The successful candidate will be located at one of the main regional Technology & Transformation sites:

Iveagh Building, Carrickmines Park, Carrickmines, Dublin, D18 X015
Lacken Offices, Dublin Road, Kilkenny

If based in Kilkenny, regular travel to the Dublin office will be required. The HSE Dublin & South East region delivers essential healthcare services and is actively advancing digital transformation to improve service delivery.
